Anglo American Platinum is our firm partner in platinum and platinum provenance. With their support, we are one of the few refiners in the world to produce a platinum provenance certificate, accredited by the RJC.

Since its inception, MetCon and Anglo American Platinum have been partners in PlatAfrica, an annual premier platinum jewellery design and manufacturing competition.

As the sole distributor of Anglo American Platinum’s platinum to the jewellery industry, we support local jewellers by providing the best commercial terms in South Africa.

MetCon supports the JCSA in their vision to represent industry members and develop the local jewellery industry.

MetCon sponsors two of the prizes for the annual student competition run by the Jewellery Council of South Africa.

MetCon is a proud participant and supporter of Jewellex, Africa’s premier jewellery and watch trade exhibition.

MetCon is a certified member of the RJC and have been since 2013.

Since 2015, MetCon has provided metal for students entering the annual 2Thuka jewellery competition and assisted with prizes and adjudications

By supporting the Pneuma Academy, MetCon contributes towards the training and education of jewellery students.

A firm partner, Jewellers’ Network aims to connect, educate, inspire and promote local jewellery manufacturing.

In 2019 we launched our Six Rings competition, inspiring professional jewellers to express themselves. The six best rings were printed, cast, manufactured and displayed at Jewellex

In 2019, MetCon supplied metal to the University of Tshwane, enabling students to use silver and learn about managing a metal account.

MetCon proudly showcases local jewellers’ pieces in our print and digital advertisements. We take great pleasure in framing the adverts and presenting them it to the respective jeweller.
